Any other leader would be 20 points ahead by now. Smh.

This statement is now a compliment for Starmer.

Kwarteng has pointed to the death of the Queen as the reason for why his budget was so bad. They're actively trying to implode aren't they?

This is (by far and wholly by accident) the most openly antagonistic thing any major UK politician has said about the Queen's death.

Over the last few turbulent years, there have been vanishingly few constants that we can still come together and enjoy. However, one of them quite consistently remains watching a British premiership collapse in real time.

The smart money was always on the lettuce, wasn't it?

I would strongly advise against reading any American sources on what's happening in the UK (or let's be honest, any other country).  Their explainers are generally written by people who just had it explained to them ten minutes earlier.

The BBC seems to be more or less adequate.

(Though to be fair, reading BBC analysis of political news in the US can also be a source of comedy.)

Generally speaking, the only value I find in checking US media on UK news (or the reverse) is to see how much a story has crossed over international lines.

Aside from the obvious, there was something distinctly off about that post I couldn't quite put my finger on, but that's it: just bewildering levels of Australian Right energy.
