Is there any scenario where this race isn't Fetterman v Parnell?

Yes, the scenario where it's Fetterman vs. Dr. Oz, of course: https://freebeacon.com/politics/dr-oz-prepares-to-jump-into-pennsylvania-senate-race/

Not sure if I'm a fan of Dr. Oz's new campaign slogan:

And since when did having serious health issues disqualify you from being in the United States Senate of all places?

It's up to the voters to decide whether it's "disqualifying," but it has pretty consistently been seen as a disadvantage since at least the 19th century. This is universally acknowledged everywhere outside of this thread; Herschel Walker is a good example of this happening right now.

Yes, and people not acknowledging that reality I think are letting their biases get in the way.

I'm not saying that it shouldn't ever be relevant to an election. I was facetiously pointing out that the question of "how well is well enough to serve in office?" is not a debate that US Senators, as a group, probably want to have.

If you can't understand why the crudité video was so spectacularly and organically damaging to a candidate combatting the specific image that Oz is, I don't know what to tell you. The Fetterman campaign had a giftwrapped present handed to them by their opponent and they reacted in turn. That's not being "desperate," that's just competent campaigning.

there are four critical rules of running for office that dr. oz seems to have forgotten:

1. don't be a carpetbagger
2. don't have a long history of publicly saying bizarre nonsense in which your own words can be regularly used against you
3. don't make it obvious that you haven't been in a grocery store in years
4. don't torture and kill 300 dogs

Hershel Walker paid for an abortion.

Dr. Oz tortures puppies for kicks.

"Blame the nearest woman" remains alive and well in public discourse, sadly to no surprise.
