This is stupid. First, according to this article, their numbers are only just shy of 2015, and comparing to 2016 is absurd given that it was an election year. Ditto for the other election years between 2010 - 2014. The amount received is not great, but it's not that bad either, all things considered. Second, other arms of the party have posted large, if not historic fundraising totals (as posted above). As individual candidate fundraising totals posted recently show, including for the special elections, Democrats are not hurting in terms of fundraising and very likely will have a lot of money to throw around in 2018.
