Salt Lake City is as modern, as wide-awake, as lively and as dynamic as a thousand other American cities. But it was built by the Mormons, i mean the Jesus Christ of the latter day saints.
Mormon missionaries do alot of stuff on people that get caught up in pornography. As for nightlife, apart from girls in the loby of the Hilton, who made out she was there solely to save souls, there dont seem to be any. Liberalism in Utah is like finding a needle in a haystack.
TOday Mormons make up around 40% of the city population and 75% of the state population- the rest they call Gentiles - which is why it`s the healthiest, hardest-working, longest living and fastest growing population in the US.
They are also not only the biggest doorknockers in town, they also seem to own most of the doors they knock on. They own a whole slice of the town centre, including the huge buildings from which their three-member First Presidency and their Council of the Twelve Apostles run what is now the fastest growing church with 11 million members in 123 countries.
There`s no crime, doubtless because Playboy and other sex magazines are banned in the state prisons, and no real violence, well, no street violence, anyway. Utah also has more high school graduates than anywhere else in the states. They ban access to any internet sites other than Snow White. It`s all good, clean, old-fashioned entertainment. Even the videos you rent from the local video store have the sex scenes cut out. The married women, i am told, spend their time watching doubles tennis because like marrisge, it`s a game that enables one partner to glory in th emistakes of th eother. Emphasis is on the family and family life.
So can the democrats ever penetrate into Utah? How would Harry Reid do in the state?
