I think it would be quite hard for me to make black friends since I don't know enough black people well enough to do so. This may be hard for you to grasp, for rural Britainshire doesn't contain very many black people. Well, that is a very practical argument (why is my ideology despicable ?). But, I guess it reduces the potential for voter fraud, as well as the number of votes that have to be counted on election day, saving time and (potentially) money.

In the 21st century, for me, democracy is almost entirely a means to an end. At the moment, a democratic system (at least in my country) seems to gurantee respect for private property, the rule of law and the nation state. But I have no sentimental attachment to democracy. If a government was to be democratically elected which pledged to nationalise banks permanently, promote atheism in schools, abolish the monarchy, attack the concept of private property and introduce other such policies, I would be perfectly prepared to drop the idea of democracy like a hot brick, and instead support a coup d'etat to remove that administration and replace it with a more agreeable one. As for foreign countries, I would not be averse to financing/effecting coup's against democratically-elected governments who pursued policies which were particularly dangerous to my country or to it's allies. So yes, democracy is a system which a majority of people will support in today's world, but if that system threatens me, or people that I'm close to or sympathise with, then, no, it is not important that it be maintained.

Keep in mind that only one of those people actually mean what they say.

One of the differences between reactionaries and progressives is reactionaries usually view freedom as something that not everyone can have while progressives generally view freedom as something that truly can be enjoyed by all.  Hence, krazen likely did mean the latter, but only he can say for certain.

I don't really see this as hypocritical, Schock ran and was elected on a platform that did not include certain rights for homosexuals.  He's representing a constituency, which is much more admirable than merely voting for his own interests.

I oppose the casual use of all drugs. I also oppose smoking tobacco and persistent alcohol consumption.

This isn't a public policy argument. It's the unilateral decree coming from someone with a tyrannical mindset. If large portions of the population want to use relatively benign drugs, who are you to say otherwise? Your opposition to liberalization of drug laws strikes me as an aesthetic judgement rendered as ethics. The same goes for your positions on gay marriage. You offer no explanation behind your preferences that goes beyond saying "I don't want that".

It's called living in a democracy; I am allowed to not support casual drug, tobacco and persistent alcohol use, because all allow for a damaged society. And the vast, vast majority of the German population does not want to allow for casual use of drugs either, as evidenced by this poll.
I've already clearly offered my argument against redefining marriage numerous times.
And my stances against drug, tobacco and alcohol use have clearly not been a hindrance, as my academic achievements are way beyond those of most who lurk this forum.

What 'rights' we have, or as I might call them 'privileges', are the gift of the state, the Church, whatever organisational unit we happen to be dealing with. We should mold ourselves to these boundaries, not expect them to fit us perfectly.

Yes, but he was also a champion of civil rights, just like our party's early leaders were, and that outweighs any position he took on abortion in my mind.

He was also a champion of sending a lot of young black men to prison with his enactment of the strictest (and dumbest) drug laws in the country up to that point, so that kind of cancels out the whole "big civil rights advocate" in my mind.

Especially because a lot of young white men probably went to prison under those laws as well.
