I think they leave Murphy alone and make Crist's a Trump district

The last congressional map the state house put out was slightly more aggressive. Well see if that sticks

The map posted earlier that makes Murphy's seat Trump +4 wouldn't even help Sabatini. He lives in Lake county which would not be in the district, he would have to run against Webster which would be an uphill battle

Also, watch the House immediately reconfigure FL-07 after getting reminded this guy exists.
He would lose the primary in that FL-7, he doesn't even live there

The House is debating the maps. This is what I alluded to earlier on why the Duval-only FL-05 would likely be fine in a few years, but not absolutely sound -as needed - at the present moment:

What do you think about NC 01 and GA 02? They look like they could possibly flip

Democrats should say they will vote for the original senate map and in turn they will not sue

House Democrats have been opposed to every map proposal. They even expressed opposition to a Senate-approved plan that received bipartisan accolades and would’ve seen 15 out of 28 districts won by Hillary Clinton, 14 won by Andrew Gillum and Bill Nelson and 12 won by Joe Biden.

Wat.

Florida Democrats pull a Fl Democrat.

Primary all of them!

What ProgressiveModerate described a page ago would probably pass a court challenge but I don't know if DeSantis is willing to compromise that much

You have to wonder if the legislature was in kahoots with DeSantis all along and the other maps were just smoke and mirrors

So why didn't the Democrats vote to override? Protecting Al Lawson clearly wasn't a reason.
FL house dems were really dumb and opposed the less aggressive maps but the reality is this was all political theater. They always wanted a more aggressive map

Hot take: Both FL and NY's maps will be used in 2022 but BOTH will be struck down in 2024

I could see the courts ok'ing everything but restoring the old FL-5 for a 19-9.
They could play it safe and do the State legislature's duval only district

Hopefully smarter people will take over later, but if this is struck down, I'm not expecting more than FL-5 being made into a duval only district

Well that's unfortunate but unless these people are total complete hacks with no conscience, there is no way this map will be upheld. Especially after what happened in NY. DeSantis is basically admitting he violated FL redistricting amendment

His specific argument with fl 5th does admit that  but Democrats really need to shift gears and dump Al Lawson to win that argument .

For example, the court has degraded the concept of diversity by suggesting it’s an illegal quota system. Labarga wrote in a Dec. 16 dissent, “The majority’s decisions of late have ushered in a series of drastic changes in civil, criminal and rulemaking contexts

I know this current lawsuit mentions only FL-5 but could you see them going further later if say FL-13 is sued?

The state lawsuit mentions all fl 13th fl 10th fl 5th and South Florida. I see chances for a fl 13th strike down as well but no further .
No FL-7? FL Dem's gonna FL Dem
