I wonder if the questions will be anywhere near as biased as Brian Williams' during the Dem debate. I highly doubt it.

By the way, what channel is broadcasting it tonight? I want to watch it.

If Bush gets thrown under a bus tonight (very unlikely), one could make the argument that he's a lame duck with 20 months left in his term.

Ummm, where have you been? He's been a lame duck since mid-2005.

Is it me or do I sense more excitement buzzing around tonight's GOP debates than the Dem debates of last week?

Only on this board, not among the American public.

McCain sounds incredibly prepared and fake.

Agreed. He has been the worst one on the stage by far. Almost like a bad SNL parody of himself.

Tommy Thompson really thinks that employers should be able to fire somebody because they're gay?

Do conservatives really believe that? I was pretty disturbed with that answer.

McCain looks like he's trying to do the robot.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. He was doing that weird thing with his arm.

Gilmore is doing pretty well. Too bad his record is weak.

I thought he was pretty horrible. He seems very, very unlikeable.

I think Hunter and Brownback were the top two.

Is there a Republican out there, who could contend for the nomination, that you would say is better than horrible?

I thought Duncan Hunter was better than horrible. He was the candidate I thought did the best and made the most sense.

I'm ready to declare a win on behalf of Rudy.

Really? I thought he was horribly mealy-mouthed and not very informed on the majority of issues. He's really not a good speaker.

Of the big three he was certainly the best.

Well, it would be hard to do worse than McCain did. Romney was certainly the most polished of the three.

So you basically picked somene who really isnt a viable contender...

Well, McCain was absolutely horrible. Guiliani was slightly less horrible. Romney is polished but would be the last candidate I'd ever trust.

I think Fred Thompson wins the Republican nomination if he enters the race.

Really??? so you liked what he said about Clinton??

I didn't agree with 80% of what he said, but at least he had some good answers on the border and trade. He also was a better speaker and more geniune than the other candidates.

Chris Matthews voted for Bush twice. Nice try though.

Yes, even Scarborough said that.. wow... especially taking into account how Matthews gave him more time than the rest of them. hmm.

Romney was certainly the most polished by far, and he definitely seemed to get the most screen time.  We'll see if his poll numbers are affected.

"John McCain won. Let's not dance around this."

The comments all say that mcCain did really bad.

"Duncan Hunter boosted his profile."

"Hunter did very well. McCain came across badly. The others were non-entitites."

I loved Rudy's comments on the war on terror how if you watch the Democratic debate, not one candidate mentioned "global fundamentalist islamic terror".

Because it's a ridiculous right-wing catch phrase used solely to scare the bejesus out of people.

Thank god Democrats don't use it.
