Potts seems like a good guy. It's always fun to hear a politician speak the truth when he has nothing to lose.

Still hoping Kaine squeeks this one out, but he really needs to whoop Kilgore in the debates.

BTW, is Potts taking part in the debates?

Warner also lowered taxes (food tax).

Trust me, Warner is liberal. jfern and his ilk obviously think so, otherwise they wouldn't support him.

That's a pretty indepth analysis right there!

I think we all know that anyone to the left of Bill Frist is considered to be a flaming liberal by the Republicans.

That's the one kicker that might cause me to vote for someone else in the primary. I can't support someone who will continue to destroy the American working class.

Does he favor any new free trade policies? I'd like to hear his platform before jumping to any conclusions.

I don't know about CAFTA, but he supports NAFTA, GATT, and the WTO.

Those have already been enacted, so it wouldn't neccessarily dissuade me from voting for him in the primary.

But any further policies to destroy the economic future of the middle class would.

Stricter immigration controls are a big plus for me.

I will vote mainly based on economic issues (and I consider immigration an economic issue as well).

Warner has just recently started campaigning for Kaine. This race is far from over.

The first televised debate is tomorrow night.

I read that they're replaying the debate on statewide TV Sunday afternoon.

I watched three clips and Kaine looked very good. He spoke at ease and showed a lot of confidence. Kilgore is a horrible speaker and seemed very incompetent.

A Republican smear campaign was inevitable. What Kaine does in the next two or three days will decide whether he still has a chance to win.

I saw the first ad last night on the news.

Why would the ad be on TV in Wisconsin?

Larry Sabato is a Republican, fools.

I didn't think he favored the Democrats at all. It wasn't Sabato's fault that Kilgore doesn't answer the questions.

He's well known as a Republican.

Just because he gave money to one conservative Democrat in Utah doesn't mean much.

If Potts drops out and endorses Kaine (he hates Kilgore), it could do a lot towards swinging the race to Kaine. Let's hope it happens.

According to the poll numbers, Kaine leads Kilgore 41-40 among likely voters.

Old news. That rumor was refuted last week. It was just a right-wing attempt to smear Kaine.

Warner is absolutely committed to helping Tim Kaine elected.

I'm going home to Virginia to vote this weekend.  For all those predicting a sure Kilgore victory, I'm not so sure.

Who are you going to vote for?

He's a candidate for state rep and he got into hot water for some crazy wingnut comments he made to a high school class.

Yeah, but a couple weeks ago I remember someone saying he was a shoo-in.  If I recall correctly it was in this exact thread.

Nick, if I remember correctly that was just AUH2O with another one of his mindless predictions. I believe he said that since Deeds had the endorsment of the NRA, he was going to win in a landslide (a vastly simplistic analysis).

Deeds has been down in the polls the whole campaign, but supposedly is surging late.

I really hope that Deeds wins.

We need a good Senate candidate in 2008 for John Warner's seat should Mark Warner pass on the Senate race.

McDonnell has the nickname "Taliban Bob" for his conservative views on sex laws.

Yep, McDonnell is supposed to be FAR FAR right. I've read he's the most right-wing statewide candidate in modern Virginia history.

I've also read that the Republican ticket is the most right-wing ticket in state history.
