I guess it's totally impossible to imagine that some people might disapprove of Obama because he's a pussy who gives Republicans everything they want in an attempt to appear transcendent and post-partisan.

Not impossible, but difficult. Or more accurately, it is difficult to imagine there being a sizeable number of them. The view you describe is simply pathological in its inability to distinguish fact from prejudice.
