Atlas Republican Primary

Republican primary with the following choices. Hopefully, someone will do the reverse for the Democrats with a handful of posters as well, and then we'll do a general with running mates and all the fixings. Vote and discuss with maps!

I'll leave it up for a few days, see if it picks up steam, and if someone else does the Democratic primary.

Wait, am I a Rockefeller Republican now?

I was referring to Higgs and RINO as the Rockefellers. But you certainly slant towards what the modern GOP would call a "liberal" Republican.

I'll be letting the winner of this poll pick their running mate for the general. The pick doesn't have to be someone in the poll, nor does it have to be a member of their party.

Santander (only SoCon running).  I wish you had included one of the far-right true conservatives like me or Classic Conservative.

Santander, Higgs, and Cathcon are all decently conservative enough. RINO Tom should be enough to satisfy the conservatives in the party, and Goldwater is far from a bleeding heart. That being said, I did consider including Classic Conservative, but thought it would be redundant by that point with the other options being available.

Goldwater starts with a nail-biting win in Iowa before a resounding victory in New Hampshire. The Republican establishment had initially planned on supporting the more mainstream RINO Tom, but libertarian leaning voters came out in droves to support Goldwater. Populist demagogue Santander won an upset victory in South Carolina, showing that this primary would be a hotly contested one.

Goldwater went on to sweep the West and the the Northeast. While Higgs took pockets in the Plains and Great Lakes, RINO Tom was attempting to hold onto the last vestiges of the eastern establishment, performing very well among white collar voters in lower New England. Meanwhile, Santander had turned the Old Confederacy into his stronghold and was able to finish second in the popular vote with a decent number of delegates. Unfortunately, Cathcon with a seemingly schizophrenic set of policies, was unable to capture a single state.

Goldwater moves onto the convention with a plurality of delegates. Time for him to name his running mate and prepare for the general election!
