Associate Justice: Elena Kagan (Liberal, appointed by Obama in 2010)
Associate Justice: Neil Gorsuch (Republican, appointed by Trump in 2017)

Associate Justice: Paul Watford (Liberal, appointed by Biden in 2026)
Associate Justice: Leondra Kruger (Liberal, appointed by Biden in 2027)
6-3 Liberal
5-4 Women
4-5 Non-Hispanic White

*Stephen Breyer resigned due to health problems on 01.01.2022
**Brett Kavanaugh resigned due to new sexual harassment allegations on 03.12.2025
***Clarence Thomas died on 26.04.2026
****Samuel Alito resigned due to health problems on 01.06.2027

I appreciate your optimism but I don't see a guy like Kavanaugh ever resigning over new allegations

No one has credibly accused Kavanaugh of sexual harassment or assault since he's been in public life.  It would incredibly bizarre for such allegations to come-to-light after he's already been run through the SCOTUS confirmation gauntlet

POD is Garland gets confirmed in 2016

Associate Justice: Elena Kagan (Appointed by President Obama, 2010)
Associate Justice: Merrick Garland (Appointed by President Obama, 2016)
Associate Justice: Neil Gorsuch (Appointed by President Trump, 2018)*
Associate Justice: Amy Coney Barrett (Appointed by President Trump, 2020)**
Associate Justice: Bernice Donald (Appointed by President Biden, 2021)***
Associate Justice: Wilhelmina Wright (Appointed by President Biden, 2024)****
Associate Justice: Justin Walker (Appointed by President Hawley, 2027)#

* Replacing Justice Anthony Kennedy, who retired
** Replacing Justice Ginsburg, who died
*** Replacing Justice Breyer, who retired
**** Replacing Clarence Thomas, who died
# Replacing Samuel Alito, who retired

I question if Trump still wins in 2016 in this scenario. It seems like the open seat was a deciding factor for a lot of his more reluctant voters and without it being open I’m not sure he could pull off his narrow victory.
