....the Outback is kind of an intimidating concept especially with what I hear about the wildlife....

It has its moments...

Missing Fisherman Found Inside Crocodile

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-14/human-remains-found-inside-crocodile-believed-to-be-andrew-heard/13153762

We have had a lot of shark deaths in Australia over the last few years.

The Great White Sharks are getting hungry after COVID-19 lockdown.

My favourite quote was in this story a couple of days earlier:

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-13/body-found-missing-fisherman-andrew-heard-crocodile-attack/13152026

"He died doing what he loved best.."

Torn to shreds screaming and drowning as you are dismembered in the jaws of an aquatic tyrannosaurus Rex is not exactly doing what he loved best.

With small Aboriginal children going missing in stunning regularity in the mangroves of Northern Queensland, presumably eaten by our reptilian cousins, Bob Katter remarked today:

"I do not know, in all of human history, any precedent for this, except when the Egyptians sacrificed humans to the Crocodile Gods."

...it's not like I'd have to go into the hellscape if I were to ever visit...
It's not what you think. If you know the right places to visit, it is breathtaking.

The only thirst you will ever quench fully will be with a cold beer at night after 120 degree days in the outback.
