Whatever happens with congressional districts, one thing is certain -New York Democrats will never again allow Republicans to control the state Senate (either by outright winning the chamber, or by encouraging defections among more conservative Democrats), and will ensure that chamber is as gerrymandered in their favor as the state Assembly already is.

New York's Legislature will draw its own new district maps and vote on them

What's wrong with Staten Island into Manhattan? There's both historical precedent and a heavily used ferry.

Yep, there is a clear community of interest of ferry riders. Many thousands of Bronz's NYPD officers ride the ferry in from Staten Island to Manhattan every day, where they police Times Square and make sure no terrorist attacks occur. So if you disrespect that community of interest, then you are disrespecting the police and helping the terrorists win.

I know you meant to say 'Bronx', but this was too funny to pass up....  Smiley

Full Senate Map. 45 districts are more than 55% Biden according to DRA. This is larger then the present caucus, but there were a lot of 52-48ish Biden seats on the old map cause of the lengths the GOP previously went to spread out and maximize their vote.

As far as numbers go, I see Senate Democrats have chosen not to go overboard and just pad their supermajority in the upper chamber a bit.  Which is wise.
