Political party affiliation during first party system

The New York Democratic-Republican party was basically Hamiltonian economics + Jeffersonian Democracy, so I'll go with them.

This if this is an option.

Otherwise, a bizarre Federalist who strongly opposed the alien and sedition acts and believed in expanding the franchise and then convincing people of the necessity of federalist ideas.

Democratic-Republican. Of the Presidents in this time:
1. Washington(barely ahead of Madison)
2. Madison

3. Jefferson

4. Adams and Monroe

The Federalist Party's monarchist sympathies were the worst possible: English. Even a Prussian prince would be better than some English prince.

I think this is probably right, except I'd put a little more of a gap between Washington and Madison.  Washington is #2/#3 all time, for me.
