Before we had those megathreads, that board used to be filled with the same content but spread out over many different threads. It was arguably worse back then, but maybe doesn't seem like it now because (1) it was years ago and (2) these current threads are constantly popping off.

I don't know though, perhaps it's better they be locked permanently. I am and have been sick of them for a long time now and I don't read them very often. I don't encourage other moderators to subject themselves to every single complaint made incessantly about the same things over and over again, either. It'll drive a person nuts.

But if it is closed, we're not going back to the old "create a new thread every time I want to complain" system, either. People will just have to take their grievances and sit on them. I don't particularly like that idea either, FWIW.
