Actually according to Kyle Kondik with the way the senate map has shaped out with Penn, OH, and MI off the board the fear Dems won’t have enough for Bill is not true.
Interesting. And a fair point, IMO.
I think the mistake newspapers and pundits made the second Trump took office was constantly talking about the Senate map as
"10 Democrats in Trump states are endangered." That was always bullsh**t. By just saying "10 states" they covered up that many of those states were places Trump won by just 1 or 2 points, and others were places Democrats were plenty competitive in, and that Republicans would be hard-pressed to oust incumbents under Trump. I mean, for example, Republicans have been getting romped in Michigan US Senate elections since the 60s, but now under an unpopular Trump they are suddenly competitive? Please.
The media and others tried to manufacture a more competitive map than there was. The second Trump became the winner, the dynamic changed and the map was destined to become much smaller than people wanted.
