I went to the shooting range again with this guy I've been seeing (sort of, anyway) and we popped off some rounds with his glock and AR-15. This time though I really blew out my hearing! I thought I had my ear plugs in right but maybe not so much in the left ear, considering it is still kind of ringing on/off and sound feels muffled. I am not doing that again without those big, special earmuffs.

Has anyone else noticed that the more you fire a gun, the more you get this strange desire to vote for true conservatives and to preserve freedom? jk me neither

I love how in the winter, my house is actually hotter than it is in the summer despite having the AC set to the same temperature. I suspect because it's easier to maintain that temp in the winter due to less heat, so the fan stops blowing as much and less air flow = more stagnation. Or maybe not, I dunno. All I know is every damn year around this time its hot when it shouldn't be

I lost another uncle to the same thing I lost my first uncle to, a blood clot in the brain, my family is devastated, but we're also going to the doctors to get a genetic test to see if this is genetics related.

I hate our current state of politics. I'm very disappointed in the GOP and still stand strongly against Trump and Democratic Party leadership.

But I can't get away from it.

You could always become an Independent and start looking at candidates on their own merits. If you really can't stand Democrats but are utterly disappointed with Republicans, there is no need to affiliate with either of them. You certainly wouldn't be the first young person to leave the GOP

Given how crazy this semester is going, I'm going to have to cut out this place for a while. At least a month. Unless I lose my job...and even then...

Hopefully once things are a bit more balanced out, I can return. But right now, Atlas is a distraction, and besides this shutdown that just ended, there really isn't that much going on.

Old habits die hard, but I've got to at least try for a month.

Yesterday was exhausting- woke up at 6 am and eventually went with friend to a party from 23:00-5:00, so zero sleep. It was fun, and I think I met a cute (and gay) friend's friend with some potential, but for some reason I'm feeling waves of sudden grief over my ex despite the fact that I thought I got over him a while ago, and despite the aforementioned new guy. Maybe it's the physical and mental exhaustion, coupled with my ex's increasing social media activity because he went on some trip to Thailand?

Maybe something about this new guy reminded you of your ex? Sometimes my exs randomly pop into my head, or something will remind me of the one that got away.

Granted I don't know your situation at all, but maybe you didn't get over them yet. There is a difference between, say, not thinking about them anymore as opposed to coming to terms with the situation. If you don't accomplish the latter, you're bound to suffer from a sneak attack of feels one day

I am being crushed under a mountain of sleep debt. I don't know what's wrong with me. I can't sleep. It's like my brain forgot how to turn itself off at night. I'm going to lose my mind if this keeps happening.

Damn. What method have you tried to help you get to sleep?

I've tried cutting out electronics before bed, popping a boatload of Benadryl and Dramamine, I've went to bed earlier to try and give myself more time to sleep but I just ended up laying in bed awake even longer. I already exercise regularly so I don't think it's just a buildup of energy. The annoying thing is I usually feel really tired when going to bed, but once I actually go to bed, I stop feeling tired. It's like my body is trolling me

I think I'm going to try going to bed super early today, so I can fully reset my messed up sleep schedule. I just wish I had some Xanax or Valium to make it easy.

Really disappointed that something I've been working on for 2 days now (many hours invested) is just not designed right, and now I have to redo at least 50% of it. I'm disappointed that somehow I've gotten bogged down on what is a very mundane and basic part of my project and most of all, that I could have avoided this if I had just spent a little time actually designing this tool instead of just winging it (which, fwiw, usually works out... usually being the key word). I've always struggled on that part.

Prayers requested.  I am at the hospital right now; my mom had a seizure and we are currently waiting in an acute care room.  We just dodged a huge bullet because my mom likely would have died had she been alone.  Please pray for both of us.  She is sick and I am completely stressed, but grateful that I was present at the time she fell.  She is now fully awake and hopefully we will be discharged either tonight or early tomorrow.

My heart goes out to you and your mom ! I hope she gets better and then some.

got it into repair mode..didn't really notice any errors when i applied first aid..which took no time at all.i'm reinstalling the os now and seeing if that fixes it

You mean a full reformat? Did you try a regular system restore? Usually installing new software via msiexec will trigger a restore point unless you have that disabled. Going back a month or two may be sufficient in most cases.
