College Gameday is heading to NC State/Clemson this week.

Good choice, though I probably would have preferred one of Alabama/Arkansas, Kentucky/Ole Miss or Oklahoma State/Baylor instead.

I think the Gameday choices for next week come down to Texas A&M/Arkansas, Auburn/Georgia, Tennessee/LSU, Florida State/NC State, and Texas/OKlahoma...with a slim possibility of TCU/Kansas.

If I had to pick, I'd go with Texas/Oklahoma. There's just something about the Red River Rivalry that excites fan passions.

So assuming this holds, it looks like OU Texas (next week) will be the first time the two play unranked since 1968

College Gameday next week doesn't have a lot of good options (unless they want to do an FCS game).

Personally, I think it should be either TCU/Kansas or Utah/UCLA (though I imagine FOX will call dibs on that one), with Texas A&M/Alabama also being possible, I suppose, as that's the uncontested big game of the week.

OU Texas is still a big rivalry, even if it's unranked this time

Given the embarrassing 49-0 loss to Texas this week, and the fact the Sooners don't have a Big Twelve victory yet, what are the odds Brent Venables is fired as Oklahoma head coach at some point this season?

Any program that fires a coach in his first year (non-interim) will never be able to get a good coach again

TCU probably needs to beat Oklahoma State, either next week (that should get them into the Cotton Bowl, assuming they make the Big Twelve Title game and lose, and all other results elsewhere go their way) or in the Big Twelve Title Game (which would get them into the Sugar Bowl). Oklahoma's collapse is hurting the conference overall, quite frankly.
