She's completely right, of course. ISIS has nothing to do with Islam any more than the KKK has to do with Christianity. I understand that it's easier for Republicans to think that ISIS supporters account for 50% of all Muslim people of whatever, but everybody else understands otherwise.
Why is she "completely right"? Of course?
Do you think folks like former Islamic extremist Maajid Nawaz (author of the book "Radical: My Journey Out Of Islamist Extremism") might have something meaningful to say on the subject? It turns out that he does. Commenting on the idea of ISIL and radicalized Muslims, Mr. Nawaz states: "This idea that it's got nothing to do with Islam is as preposterous as saying it's got everything to do with Islam."
Perhaps the nuance is lost on many Americans, but it's especially sad to see that it's also lost on the former Secretary of State, someone who touts her foreign policy expertise and seeks to be the next President of these United States. Islam and radical Islam are distinct but related; the sooner we come to terms with this fact, the sooner we'll be able to address the problems posed by the latter.
