So Trump is announcing his speakers this week, are we going to get the democrat's lineup?  Any guesses who the keynote will be?  I'm tempted to say Warren if she doesn't get the VP spot, maybe Bel Edwards or Harris (though I don't get the hype...)?

Couldn't Bel Edwards as the keynote spark a revolt among Sanders supporters? He's pretty moderate.

As if they're not already going to be standing outside the convention hall begging for attention?  They've already shown that no matter what olive branch she gives them, they're not going to cooperate, so she should do what's best for her and best for the party.  If that means putting Bel Edwards on keynote to try to help rebuild the southern democratic party, go for it.

It doesn't really look like there is going to be a massive floor fight over the platform at this point. The delegates coming looking for a tussle are probably going to be disappointed.

Sanders wants a floor fight on TPP.

Would a (not too chaotic) floor fight over TPP necessarily be harmful to Clinton? A high-profile conflict, possibly in prime time, might give her room to continue campaigning as a TPP skeptic without it seeming like she is personally rebuking Obama's presidency. It would also emphasize that the Democratic Party has changed its stance this issue in a way that's sure to receive plenty of media attention.

Is anyone really a single-issue voter on TPP?  Nobody even understands it.  I feel like a lot of the people who hate Hillary for it would just find some other reason to vote against her if they couldn't use that.

The convention needs to be just like the 2012 convention.  Some weird side moments to let the base blow off steam (like the Israel vote in 2012) but mostly well-crafted prime-time speeches from the party's biggest stars praising the nominee to the heavens and destroying the opposition.  If you think Hillary wants anything other than that you're overthinking it.

Also scheduled Tuesday are Mothers of the Movement members Gwen Carr, Mother of Eric Garner; Sybrina Fulton, Mother of Trayvon Martin; Maria Hamilton, Mother of Dontré Hamilton; Lucia McBath, Mother of Jordan Davis; Lezley McSpadden, Mother of Michael Brown; Cleopatra Pendleton-Cowley, Mother of Hadiya Pendleton; Geneva Reed-Veal, Mother of Sandra Bland.

omg, why would you brand yourself with BLM during the convention?
I want to see a poll on BLM.  If their unfavorables are below 60% I'll eat my hat.

Hillary Clinton has been campaigning with these women since almost the beginning of the primary process. It would be disrespectful for her to drop them now. Also this isn't exactly BLM, this seems more powerful as these women lost children. Should be able to appeal to most mothers out there.

Yeah on second thought, the mothers are probably more measured and ok especially if they've been all together like this, I was imagining an unhinged performance like the girlfriend of that guy who was shot in his car.  And I'd they've been with Hillary then she presumably knows they won't say anything inappropriate like if they'd invited deray McKesson up there or something.

What would even bring you to say this? To denigrate a woman's reaction to her boyfriend being murdered in front of her? Disgusting.

Not from the video... like a couple days later she was doing some interview and just kept saying the same stuff over and over again and being really aggressive.  I don't blame her, obviously it was a traumatic experience, but I wouldn't want her to do it again on stage at the DNC.

I wonder if Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton will speak. Yes, both men are polarizing, but they could rouse an audience. They're good speakers. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon should speak as well. He should speak about rural issues and heartland values.

LMAO, keep it up.

What? I'm serious. Jackson and Sharpton are polarizing, but they can give good speeches.

Jay Nixon gave you away.  The Ferguson governor can't get up there and talk about heartland values as though his state didn't give birth to BLM.
