How much of the LaFollete vote in 1924 went to Hoover and Smith? I'm guessing that since he was a progressive Republican that's where the majority of his voters went but there probably was a decent minority of progressive Democrats that refused to support Davis and while it's unlikely that they would have been wild about a machine politician like Smith might have found him slightly more acceptable.
