No. The sacrifice was made by those who died in his place, while he made a spectacle in the United States. His "sacrifice" was a cowardly act.

You do realize that thousands of Americans did go, right?  It was an honorable thing that the vast majority of those drafted did.  Ali let others die in his place. We don't have a draft today, but I'm quite comfortable with myself, don't worry.
