This is dumb mainly for the reason that taking down his statue won't remove his presence from the school whatsoever. His fingerprints on the school are everywhere, and his architectural style that shapes the campus is here to stay.
On a side note UVA/Charlottesville could use some time outside of the limelight. I thought things would probably be really boring for another decade after that whole Rolling Stone rape culture debacle, but man was I wrong.
It does suck that my home state is being in the news so much, but oh well. What ya gonna do? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
