I've had a strange fascination with Paterson for a while. Ever since I got into studying extremism and trans-national crime, I've come to realize just how many sketchy things have a node in Paterson, and I honestly have to respect it a bit for that. Plus, for a city its size, it has a crazy number of vibrant diaspora communities from all over the place. On the one hand, the perfect encapsulation of the American dream, and on the other hand, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. And I like that in a town.
