Trump dresses up as Santa Claus and breaks into newspaper printers across the country on election night to steal all of the reports of Biden winning and then is flabbergasted when everyone still celebrates Biden's election the next day.

Trump voters can't figure out how to properly send in a ballot. Sad!

Senator Moore approves.

Strangely, I do have enough faith in the media that, if Trump were to try this, even they'd probably write it off as "Trump campaign is claiming... although there's no reason to believe them at this point." Fox might hedge a little more with a "maybe they're seeing something we aren't," but the media has never had their calls align with candidate announcements regardless of the candidates.

It's just gone 7 pm Eastern and we have poll closings in Indiana, in Georgia, in Kentucky, in South Carolina, in Virginia, and in Vermont. We also have polls closing in most of Florida, although we will wait until all polls are closed in the state to make a call there. But we are able to make our first projections of the night. In Vermont, we project Joe Biden will win the state's 3 electoral votes. In Kentucky, we project Trump will carry the state's 8 electoral votes...

[Trump totters up to podium] CNN is now projecting we are leading in the electoral vote. I hereby declare victory. That's right. The earliest victory in history. We've never seen anything like it. Sorry Joe.

Trump advisers were trying to figure out how to pander to Pennsylvanians but don't know the difference between steel and steal.

I hate these symbolic "quit in protest" moves because it just leaves an opening for lackeys and yes-men to fill their place.

One of my smarter friends gave me the advice: Never quit in protest, just do what's right and dare them to fire you for it.

The Guardian seems pretty confident that the "rogue state legislatures" scenario won't work out for them, but I'm sure it won't be this clear-cut if they actually try it.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/nov/11/can-donald-trump-stay-in-office-second-term-president-coup

Quote
Say the worst-case scenario comes to fruition and Republican-led legislatures override the will of the people in several states. Is there any safeguard to stop Trump?

Yes. Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Nevada all have Democratic governors who would refuse to approve a set of Trump electors with the popular vote clearly showing Biden winning their state. Instead, they would submit the electors Biden is entitled to as the winner of the popular vote.

It would then fall to Congress, which is charged with counting the votes from the electoral college, to decide what to do. The law that outlines the process for how Congress should handle a dispute in electors from a state is extremely confusing, but experts believe the slate backed by a state’s governor is the legally sound one. There is a rival theory that the president of the Senate, Mike Pence, could have control over the process. A dispute over electors between the US House and Senate is a worst-case scenario and the US supreme court would probably be asked to step in.

Regardless of however long a dispute is, the constitution does set one final deadline. Even if counting is ongoing, the president and vice-president’s terms both end at noon on 20 January. At that point if there isn’t a final result in the race, the speaker of the House – likely probably Nancy Pelosi – would become the acting president.

I think there are two things pretty much everyone should agree on:

1) Trump has the right to challenge (but not overturn) whatever votes he wants.

2) Team Trump's participation in preparing for a transition of power should not be contingent on or delayed until Trump personally feels that every grievance he has about the election is assuaged.

If either of these is a problem for you, then you probably should not be taken seriously. We can argue about when it is appropriate to start giving Biden certain pieces of intel or what level of certainty we should have about an election's winner before the two sides work together. But even if somehow the election were to get overturned and Trump were to stay as president, his team should not be assuming that will be the case when, by all current measures Biden has won. If you're going to argue that media calls are illegitimate or premature, then you need to be just as prepared for the contingency that Biden wins as you are for the contingency that Trump wins.

Jimrtex, if we did it your way and had all votes in-person where a poll worker verified the signatures in real-time, we would still have no recourse if someone wanted to challenge the signatures later on because those signatures are not tied to specific ballots. It's an inevitable consequence of having a secret ballot that we will never be able to look at a ballot and get its "metadata" so to speak. If you trust poll workers at voting booths, why do you not trust poll workers at mail-in voting centers?

And I'll also note that signature verification is not just a rubber stamp even in heavily blue states. I myself have had to cure a ballot I cast in all-mail Washington before this election because my signature had changed too much since I turned 18. We have a system that works and it sure seems like all you don't like about it is the outcome of this particular election.

Epoch Times be like: we hate China because they wantonly declare martial law to crack down on dissidents, so Trump should declare martial law to prevent someone who is at best very marginally more pro-China from taking office.

Just to be clear "breached the Capitol building" just means they made it through the outside crowd control barriers. I haven't seen any evidence they're actually in the building.
