Just a reminder to folks who are still defending this creep, this isn't 'simply' some random guy with poor social skills trying to pick up a date somewhere, this is somebody with power, who is married, and using his power to treat women (who I remind people are the same ages as his daughters) as his toys to do as he wishes.

Cuomo isn't married. He's divorced since 2005 and separated with his subsequent partner Sandra Lee in the fall of 2019. Latter and COVID social distancing seem to have had a negative impact on his behavior, although he was a sleazybag before.

Gets worse and worse and Cuomo isn't resigning. Albany reporters raise serious questions whether Cuomo launched a smear campaign against the 1st accuser. It would be fitting, he also smeared Cynthia Nixon as anti-semite in his primary. Cuomo is scum.

Now they want to take his fathers name off of the Tappan Zee bridge, That'll teach him.

Weren't there some allegations of corruption against Cuomo when that project was opened? I barely remember something here.

There was always going to be more. Anyone surprised didn't pay attention. Rank and file Dems should start getting out and demand his immediate departure from the gov's office. Gillibrand and others hammered Al Franken for something less but still can't get beyond a lukewarm BS statement like "I support the investigation". So far, only calls for his resignation from state lawmakers increase by the hour. Gillibrand in particular is kind of a hypocrite here; and that's why people dislike so many politicians. Impeachment would already be underway if Cuomo was a GOPer. So we need to live up to our own standards here and run a Dem out of town if he gets into such horrible conduct. Enough is enough.

And if the accusations alone and nursing home scandal isn't enough, it looks like Cuomo is not just spreading false information on said former employees, there is also this (the dude is human scum and near as bad as Trump, just more professional):

Looks the the votes to impeach and convict are already there, with enough Dems joining virtually all GOPers. Really depends on the speaker now.

Blue Tribe Trump. Thank God we'll never have to suffer him as President or AG.

If Biden actually nominated this dude for AG, his confirmation process would have blown up in his face big league. Assuming he'd even make it through the vetting process in advance, which is very doubtful and may have been a major reason he was not among the finalists considered for the position.

I really hope he gets convicted and removed cause at this point even if he's forced out of office I still see him running in 2022 if he's eligible. If he isn't eligible I could see him trying to pull a George Wallace and have his wife or brother run as a surrogate just so he could get back in

Puppet-Governor Chris Cuomo perhaps one of the most disheartening ideas I've seen mooted on this forum.

Yup. Cuomo is also divorced for 16 years, btw, and seperated from his previous partner for nearly 2 years.

Tbh, I have grown even more pessimistic Cuomo will be successfully removed from office. Someone with appeal beyond the progressive wing needs to primary him out. He's a blue Trump.

It's ridiculous that CNN won't be disciplining him. Journalistic-ethics alone make clear that this is obviously a big no-no.

As the people of New York appear to be realizing (Looking at the polling and the fact that legislature Ds have quietly squashed the impeachment effort), this is just the GOP's latest attempt to dethrone a truly great governor. Chris is bravely defending an innocent man and should be rewarded, not punished.

I can't tell whether this post is ironic or serious.

I've burried any hopes Cuomo will be removed from office and have grown increasingly pessimistic he'll be out in 2023 either. NY is likely stuck with the corrupt dude till Dec. 31, 2026.

Ugh, I just read all of these developments yesterday upon returning from a nearly 3 week roadtrip. I didn't expect the report to come out that fast; I knew it would be bad, but this bad. Seriously, how is this dude still in office? He should resigned like... months ago.

While I was pessimistic about getting rid of Blue Trump, looks like he the beast is finally done. It's only a question of his choosing whether he gets removed or voluntarily steps down. Let's hope he gets prosecuted for sexual harassment, nursing home deaths and the corrupt book deal. And his brother needs to be fired by CNN.

Looks like this a move to buy time and sign he's not resigning in the next few days at least. I really wish the corrupt dude would just be gone.

Mr. Cuomo is a horrible creep:

Not sure what that is supposed to mean. We'll get rid of Blue Trump, but probably not within days.

I understand they want due process, but feels like this is sucking up so much time. Just get the corrupt dude out! He should come to grips and finally resign. He can't effectively govern anymore anyway. The fact that Haestie didn't talk to the gov for months tells you how dysfunctional things have become.

Still hoping the sheriff of Albany arrests him.

Ugh, I'm surprised he actually announced his resignation. Seems like he realized there was no way forward; if essentially everyone in Albany, DC and at the local level calls for your resignation and impeachment probe is underway, you can't govern. This move also avoids him a painful and embarrassing impeachment process that may have revealed more details about the other scandals we ought not the forget. Particularly the nursing home scandal and his corrupt book deal. That said, these still need to be investigated.

14 days is long, I believe he needs some time to finally get used to losing the job. The dude has been around in Albany for decades, worked for his father and tried as early as 2002 to become NY-gov. Now he's been in for over a decade as dominant figure in Albany and wanted to outdo his father by serving 4 terms.

Finally I hope the state can finally move on and wish the 1st female gov would clean up things and do the people's business.

I'm throwing in just a thought: Forget about Trump... could Blue Trump Cuomo actually do or attempt to do what the orange buffoon only suggested and pardon himself? He has a couple of days left in office and nothing to lose by doing so. In a worst case scenario, the matter would go before a state court to rule whether such action is legitimate. Tbh, I wouldn't be that surprised by such a move and neither should be anyone who has followed his scandals just recently. It's very possible he'll get in legal trouble with the sexual harassment stuff and nursing homes after leaving office. A self-pardon could at least save him from state charges, albeit not ongoing federal investigations. In his position, I wouldn't bank on a female successor he wasn't close to to save him. Neither Biden nor Hochul would lift a finger for this dude and have nothing to gain from it.

What are your takes?

The man doesn't deserve a taxpayer-funded pension, let alone $50K/year's worth, but at least this essentially serves as confirmation that he won't just oh-so-conveniently forget to submit his formal letter of resignation by midnight on Tues.

I'm kind of surprised it's only 50k annually. Expected much more. That said, the dude likely continues to make tons of $ from shady book deals, paid speeches and much more. And he's got 18 million cash in his campaign war chest. Perhaps he'd better use it for upcoming legal fees etc.

Yup, a disgrace, even if not a surprising one. He should already have been laid off for drafting statements for his brother as there was an enormous conflict of interest.

While never a fan of Blue Trump himself, I long thought Chris Cuomo as a decent journalist. Seems like that was a false assumption.
