Why don't Democrats hammer this? It gets me annoyed when Republicans just label everything as socialists, and that's enough to rile up their base, while Democrats don't even talk about blatant voter suppression efforts.

That's not true. Abrams has been waging a high-profile campaign against this in Georgia for years now. Democrats do talk about this all the time. If you said this 4+ years ago, I'd say yeah, you have a point, but it's not the same anymore.

Agreed. Though it seems "socialism" just scares more people off than "voter supression".

No, Perdue's race is Safe R because Atlanta suburbanites LOVE corruption, racist dog whistles, and a senator who votes with his party like 100% of the time. But Loeffler's race is a toss-up at best for Republicans because she's a shrill extremist who campaigned with Greene.

#sexism #analysis

I know you're ironic here, but hot take: The results won't differ by much. Less than 1 pt is very likely, IMHO.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/gov-hogan-vote-loeffler-perdue-to-uphold-moderation-and-compromise-in-the-us-senate

Hogan endorses Loeffler and Perdue and loses much of my respect

Also his justification is very lame

I guess he really wants to run for President and get 8% in the New Hampshire primary
Why would Larry Hogan endorse Qelly Loeffler and David "pray for Obama's death" Perdue?

Believe he thinks he's a viable 2024 candidate.

Lol in what universe, he's going to get absolutely blown out

Get blown out? Bold to assume he even makes it to the 1st contest.

Is this turnout good for Dems? I mean, the election nationwide showed us benefits from high turnout isn't a one-way street for Dems. I'm particulary interested in opinions from GA posters.

What great news! I'm truly excited! Gee, who would have thought GA would surprise us twice? Warnock and Ossoff were great candidates, paired with Abrams' incredible efforts to get out the vote this was the perfect storm.

Mr. Trump can whine as much as he wants, it's also on him given that turnout in most rurals dropped by more than in the Atlanta metro and suburbs. Finally we can also give farewell to Obstructionist McTurtle and put the David "King of Suburbs" Perdue meme to rest. Biden's presidency may turn out more successful than anticipated.

Per CNN: GA elections official Gabriel Sterling says that there is about 14,000 outstanding military ballots.

They used to favor the GOP slightly? But anyways, Ossoff's current lead seems insurmountable to overcome with outstanding votes.

Ah, I see Trump is taking the Emperor Palpatine approach to government: "If I can't have it, no one can"

And these people still don't call him out now that he's bringing them down with him.

Too bad Mr. Trump didn't express his dissatisfaction with Perdue and Loeffler via @realdonaldtrump. Oh wait...

Fascinating how the numbers are looking now, this wasn't as close as expected.

It's too unfortunate the attempted coup overshadowed this wonderful news.
