I've watched soccer and NASCAR in the last two days...I must be so seriously starved for entertainment that I found myself getting into both.  Going to try to watch some Aussie Rules Football this weekend (I remember enjoying it when it was the last sport still playing in March before it also stopped).

In fairness, I hadn't really given myself a chance to become a fan of either, and, since I like literally every sport I've ever watched, I guess it makes sense that I would enjoy them too.  It probably helped that I decided on rooting interests going in (even if I have no long-term emotional connection like I do with other sports).

But, give me football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and tennis (the sports I've watched for most of my life) any day of the week.  Six more weeks until team sports return!

How did I go 24 years without getting into Aussie Rules Football?  This sport is so much fun!

A girl I dated for two months from November to mid-January is already engaged, and, it feels weird to me for some reason.  I broke up with her because I didn't feel like my feelings for her were progressing after 2 months (and I suspect that was mutual).  Really, they had gone to the point of no longer having any feelings for her.  A month or so later, she got into a relationship.  It makes me question why things never progressed with us that they progressed so quickly between her and someone else.  Now, she's engaged less than 5 months after meeting the other guy, when they also have noted on FB several times that they didn't see each other due to the TN/KY border being closed for two months.

Plus, she made a reference to "6 months ago" in her engagement announcement, which may or may not have been a subtle reference to me, as she got engaged 6 months to the day after I broke up with her.

I certainly would not be interested in her even if she was still single, but her getting engaged that quickly makes me go back and wonder about what went on in the 2 months I was with her- just a few months ago.

Not exactly related to your situation, but why is it that Southrons marry either after they've dated for six to eight months or during/straight out of college?

For Evangelicals, I would suspect it has a lot to do with a certain thing that many Evangelicals consider sinful to do before marriage.

I just found out that my favorite professor from college died of ALS a couple weeks ago.

Today marks 9 months since I started losing weight.  I'm down 87.4 pounds, although it hasn't been as much of late (have only been very lightly dieting, combined with not having as much fat to lose):

First 3 Months: 55.6 pounds
Next 3 Months: 22.6 pounds
Last 3 Months: 9.2 pounds

I do want to hit 100 inside of a year, so I might have to pick up the pace a bit.  I have lost 6.2 pounds in the last 4 weeks after almost entirely stalling for a couple months (3 pounds in over 2 months), so that pace would have me at 100 pounds lost on December 5th.

That is amazing progress ER! Glad to hear it. But I have to say, losing that much that fast is pretty hard on the kidneys. You should keep on the side effects of such rapid weight loss.

A lot of it was just that, when you weigh 360 pounds like I did (I am 6'5", but it's still a lot), there is a lot of weight that it just looking to melt off.  I followed Nutrisystem pretty strictly from January through April, and 15 pounds of those were just my first week, weight that wasn't really cemented onto me.  Now, I'm only partway doing Nutrisystem, partway eating reasonably, and maybe twice a week eating whatever I want (I've been often doing that on Sundays to go out and watch football since I'm a fan of an out of market team).  That's how I've now gotten into the 1-2 pounds per week mode.

I have a cell phone number from a swing state I haven't lived in in years and just got a call to be polled for the presidential election.  They didn't want to continue when they found out I didn't live there.
