Sununu will be able to blast Hassan's record as Governor in handling the Opioid Crisis and compare it to his own record of handling that crisis. In fact, when Hassan was Governor, she mishandled this crisis as she vetoed budgets providing treatment funding in the midst of the state’s growing heroin problem in addition of denying services to some of the state's most needy, resulting to 429 people dying a year. Meanwhile, when Sununu was Governor, the state received $3.6 Million in new opioid response funding to continue to break down barriers to treatment and support people on their path to recovery.

Hassan never had a Dem trifecta.   Sununu has had four years of GOP trifectas.

If the NHGOP has to choose between Guinta and Messner they skipped right over B-list and C-list and went straight to D-list candidates.

NH State Senate President Chuck Morse is now seriously thinking about running for Senate against Hassan.

This will be Hagan vs Tillis reloaded if Morse runs. Hassan would make this Race about the NH State Legislature while Morse would likely nationalize the Race and make it about President Biden & Congressional Democrats.

Morse is probably "the" most anti-marijuana politician in NH.   He's also not all that charismatic if you ever heard him talk.  I don't think he's all that good of a candidate.  He runs in a super Safe R district in the southeast.

With the obvious caveat that Vermont is of course not super indicative of trends in NH, the Senate primary results in VT, and some other recent primaries, is probably a good sign for Bolduc. Basically, in VT we saw a well-funded candidate with deep support among the grandees of the state party state loose to a much Trumpier type of Republican (also, incidentally, with a military background). Generally it seems that candidates perceived as being Trump aligned are getting a boost without really investing anything or evening getting an outright endorsement, and I assume Bolduc benefits from that pattern. Morse of course is much less alienating to the Trump and more conservative wings than a lot of the candidates who have lost recently, but there is no doubt that Bolduc is still the preferred candidate amongst those voters.

I am seeing way more Bolduc signs than any other candidate's.   Which is surprising since I'm in the southeast where I'd expect to see Morse have more support.

A problem for Morse and undecideds is that there is absolutely nothing interesting or appealing about him whatsoever.   He's just a bland, generic Establishment Republican without any redeeming qualities at all.  Voters this cycle haven't been very found of candidates of his profile so far.  He's not all that charismatic when listening to him talk either.

He can gain more support with higher name recognition but he's going to hit a ceiling at some point or another.  The question is if the ceiling is higher than Bolduc's floor.

The biggest threat to Morse might be Smith coming up and splitting the establishment vote with him.  If Smith gets into the double digits I think Bolduc is almost guaranteed to win.

This isn't the best message to put out in the sixth-most pro-choice state in the country (66% of voters in New Hampshire think abortion should be legal in all or most cases).

Quote
"it's been there since 1935, it's time for change, but we will never hurt anybody [by doing] the change necessary to ensure Americans have the livelihood they deserve"

I think that clears up what he was trying to say.

Anyway, a great change for Soc Sec is getting rid of maximum taxable earnings on it and switch to a progressive tax system.  It's kinda insane that people can earn $2 million+ in a year and only pay Soc Sec taxes on the first $147k.

WTF?

Is this a new thing for the GOP?  I haven't heard this before.  Are Republicans against women not having sex or something?
