Moderates are weak candidates in today's political environment,  despite people claiming otherwise. 

He'll win the primary and the general, but if there's a Republican wave election in the future I wouldn't be surprise to see him go down like Udall.

This race really is going to be the NJ-SEN 2018 of this cycle, huh?

Eh, the difference there is that Menendez was the incumbent. Meanwhile, Hickenlooper is facing an incumbent...and he might have to hope and pray that Biden wins Colorado by double digits.

Is this parody?

Menendez had a -31 (33/64) favorability rating on election day, somehow I don’t think his "incumbency" was a major advantage in that race.

Minority voters in NJ saved Menendez. CO is much whiter.
