Wow,  the Republicans might actually have a 3rd moderate in their Senate caucus???   That's crazy, I thought only hardcore conservatives were allowed in nowadays.

If Hatch runs without primary opposition, he'll cruise to reelection.  If Huntsman or McMullin runs, then he should retire.

In Nov 2018 he'll be 84 years old...he should retire regardless.

Huntsman is a lot more right wing than his moderate hero persona implies. He was actually a big Trump defender through everything until Pussygate. I don't blame him for withdrawing his support after that, and considering how loyal he was until that point, I'm fine with him replacing Hatch.

Well he's not a downright liberal or progressive, but for a Republican he's certainly in the center of "today's" field (10-15 years ago he'd be considered a conservative).

At the very least, he believes in man-made climate change and evolution, supports gay marriage, supports comprehensive immigration reform, and isn't a wacko-doodle warhawk about the military.

He probably would be considered a fiscal conservative though.

He's also pro-life and pro-2nd amendment.

To be expected in Utah.
