I'm sorry, what? You'd support Nixon if you knew about Watergate...but you wouldn't support him if you didn't? Kinda seems counterintuitive ngl.
Nixon got way more paranoid after his 1960 loss. Watergate doesn't even play into my assessment here except indirectly. Imo it's a total non factor in this scenario and we're dealing with an alternate universe anyway.
My instinct is to vote for the Democrat generally speaking but some things can override that. Post-1960 Nixon had skills he share with pre-1960 Nixon and which were good in an executive so him winning in 1960 is a good opportunity to benefit from this while avoiding the Nixonite paranoia that came into play after '68. So with hindsight, yes I would, by a hair, support Nixon.
And it's not like Rs are ever going to have Congress anyway.
