Are you calling NyT, WaPo, CNN etc "Very Online Left" or do you doubt that they would publish a lot of fake outrage stories, if Trump said that? Man, Maddow, CNN's Fredo, Don Lemon and other would be screaming r-r-r-acist, and Acosta would ask "tough" question about it

Yes, I do agree they'd also cast this as some massively bad moment on Trump's part, using whatever link they could argue exist and whatever set of arguments necessary to cast him in terrible light regardless of the actual facts.
