I heard that petitions went out today for the new map so isn't it impossible to go back to the old one at this point in addition to the fact that the Secretary of States's office has begun updating their records?

So is the new map set in stone at this point and the chance of going back to the old one pretty much zero?

The Secretary of State's office has already begun updating records and shifting precincts. I can't imagine the Supreme Court upending the process like that.

We'll know more on March 9th I guess.
Why March 9th?

Should note that the filling deadline for Pennsylvania is this coming Tuesday. Really hard to see any court overturning the new maps considering there are only like 5 days left and the massive amounts of confusion it would make to go back.

Tuesday is probably the day when inertia kicks in and there is 0 chance of not using the court map in November.

To overturn the maps now would disrupt the election process considering precincts and polling locations have been shifted and databases updated. I can't imagine the court would do something so blatantly partisan.

Is there any chance this gets to a vote? They have the numbers to impeach although it could backfire heavily across the state if it gets voted on.

I have great doubts this actually goes anywhere.

I would not put it past Republicans do actually do it. They've made it quite clear they dont believe in free and fair elections or the rule of law.
