Being called ''flyover country'' is a compliment. If left-wingers dislike a place, that place is clearly doing something right. For example, the constant bashing of Oklahoma by left-wingers on this forum only makes me like it more.

I agree with this.

Personally, as someone who's lived in the Midwest (generally considered "Flyover country") and Silicon Valley, I like both a lot, though they are very different. 

I really admire the strong values, patriotism, and religiosity of places like Oklahoma (and to a lesser extent, the Midwest), but there is something to be said for the awesome scenery, mild winters, and  strong emphasis on education, especially in STEM fields, that we see in Silicon Valley.
