Jackson is criticized for the IRA, but Lincoln is praised by you guys even though he caused a war murdering 600,000 Americans and didn't care about slavery? Lol ok
Right, because Southerners played
no role in starting the Civil War. They were just sitting around on their plantations, illegally importing slaves, shooting at federal troops, rigging elections in Kansas, and trying to start a rebellion, when for NO REASON evil President Lincoln decided that his oath to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Union actually meant something.
As for your comment about slavery... good grief, read his Second Inaugural. Or the Gettysburg Address. Or any of his speeches from the Lincoln-Douglass debates. It's pretty clear that he was morally opposed to slavery, though his position on how best to resolve the issue evolved over time (much as the South's argument for why the war was necessary has evolved).
