There was a break during the fallout of the midterms. The GOP just did what it usually do and screwed it up. Now they stuck with him.

Yep, if DeSantis would've launched right after the midterms, I think we'd be in a much different place.

And he hasn't played his cards right afterwards either. The party had a chance to drop Trump then but not enough blame was placed on him for their mediocre showing in the midterms.  In fact they just rallied around him more.
