I'm sorry but my people been through this too many times before for me to get my hopes up. I still think Chauvin will get off because if there is one thing I learned through studying history is that you never count on White Americans to do the right thing.

The defense’s argument is absolute s—t, bordering on incoherent. I went in expecting him to get off. Now I’ll be stunned if he isn’t found guilty.

Agreed, I was sure Chauvin will get off but Eric Nelson has come amateurish this whole trial. Still, you can not downplay the level of stereotypes and racial tropes have on everyday life and how it can blind us from the obvious. 60/40 Guilty verdict.

Television cameras should be banned in all courtrooms, and the names of defendants should be kept anonymous until the trial has concluded.

I'd be fine with the recording provided said recording is only released after the trial is over.
It was incredibly stupid to make this a tv trial.
Honestly, could you imagine how much worse backlash there would be if the trial was kept hidden, especially if for some reason Chauvin does get acquitted/it ends in mistrial?

No television cameras in the courtroom is hardly synonymous with a hidden trial

Yup release a transcript within a few hours if need be. Much less of a media circus.

The Judge did the right thing. He knew many people across this country especially after last year crowd of protesters were invested in the case. Not giving people the opportunity to see trial will just create further mistrust which already surrounds multiple cases that involved law enforcement. Having a visual format will eliminate any doubt of wrongdoing that is currently surrounding the trial of Breonna Taylor.

There’s no good way for this to end, either way half the country is gonna be furious and honestly as a resident of a diverse city I am terrified

But this is not a left-right issue. What Chauvin did is not conservatism. I have no idea why "some" elements of the right-wing attach themselves to people like Chauvin and other police officers whenever the subject becomes about killing black people.

So the mob gets its pound of flesh. Good for civil strife at least.

Girl, just say you hate black people.

Why did so many people seem to think he'd actually get off? This jury was taken from one of the bluest places in the country; this isn't like past trials like this, they had video evidence. Unsurprising.

The same could be said about Rodney King and look what happened there.

Someone on the news is saying that there could be looting and destruction tonight in Minneapolis.
Why?
This would be awful. Please people of MN, don't ruin this day.

Sounds like Fox News. Honestly, it will likely be a repeat of November 7th.

I like how Marty is spamming posts from prominent Democrats but refuses to post the countless insensitive and borderline racist statements from his side of the aisle about the case and others.

George Floyd's death was certainly not in vain and has reawakened a sense of justice in the black community whether you understand it or not.
