Well great, it's another get old day.

At least no one recognized...him first.

I'm in Bristol today (somebody kill me) so that means I can overhear what's moving and shaking amongst  the lowest IQ people.

Some coffee sipping #hustle bros were saying that Ukraine will win because they have the "grit and determination and tenacity of purpose."

Two middle aged women who looked like they'd walked a hedge blamed the Jews.

A hippy was telling xer friend that none of this would have happened if everyone was vegan while someone else said that the government should arrest everyone in Chelsea.

I just wanted a burger and for the queue to get a move on.

Yer in the land 'o Aardman Animation, so it can' be all bad.

I've officially written into my diary to leave this place once I reach ten years.

Two years left.

Let’s leave together

Why not call it quits after eight?

10 is a more interesting number.

The alternative point of interest is 30,000...

I amend this to two and almost a half.

I'd like to be around for Election Day stuff and go out with the new year

On vacay in northwest Italy atm, and man, I'm actually livid that Germans are so stuck up about  how progressive they are and how backwards southern Europeans are, yet:

- trains are cheaper and more frequent in Italy than in Germany
- trains are cleaner, more modern, and break down less
- internet is faster, cheaper, and more reliable
- i can pay with credit card virtually everywhere and cash-only places are rare

Given my experiences with train logistics in Italy, this doesn't bode great for Germany.

But then again, my last experiences there were...nearly 20 years ago, so...things could've changed.

Submitted my placement test for Indiana University's summer Russian immersion program. Can you say "career suicide"?

iTalki is cheaper, but okay.

I already have an in-person tutor. I've had what I feel has been substantial improvement, but I'm shooting for crash industrialization Russification.

Touche.

Easter begins, and I'm on way back to visit the old alma mater.

Currently in North Carolina, but that's just a holdover.

This is either peak Atlas, or  anti-Atlas but

While I did vote today, I read nothing, and just filled in the bubbles...pretty much every party except Republicans got a nod...and just like last primary, no love for Nuisance...I mean Newsom.

My computer is bust, so I won't be here much for a few weeks. Mobile is so unwieldy.

Venice is beautiful but I have no reason to ever come back here.

Sad! What happened?

Tourist trap with no trace of organic human life and fast food restaurants that demand way too many logins to gain wi-fi access. I also insisted on walking from the mainland to the island (my fault), which had me in a foul mood. Also sooo many effing pigeons.

17 years later, and nothing changes!

Pulled off a conversation with a Swiss Family in non-English. Amazing how different it is from Standard.

Castillian and Mexican are closer, American and English are closer, I'm pretty sure even Florentine and Sardinian are closer.

I started applying for jobs again recently. I have already applied to most of the exciting jobs, leaving a large body of less exciting, but easier to get and maybe even better paying jobs, ahead of me. Some of these are materially good enough gigs that I'm actually quite nervous applying for them, which has resulted in a growing pile of incomplete cover letters, as I seek to appear "perfect".

Way on the other end, I applied--with typos in my cover letter, I later found out--to a temporary NGO position in Moldova. Today I was contacted (in French) by someone hiring for the same position in Jordan. The job posting says they are hiring "ASAP", which has me nervous, since AFAIC I am booked until at least March, and moving to the desert only to speak English (or maybe fail at speaking Arabic) does not represent the same opportunity to me as a job in a Slavic-speaking country. That said, some of the pictures of Jordan look stunning, and I am out of interview practice, so I figure I should give this a shot and find out the cut of their jib.

DOOOO EEET!

Had a good preliminary interview with a job in Denver. The pay looks very nice but that's not accounting for Denver CoL. Plus, Denver's not really all it's cracked up to be, if we're being honest.

Да, это так.
