GA-6 was a district that Romney won by 25%, just so folks have a sense of how hard the northern ATL burbs have swung D under Trump. Mirrors my own political evolution too.
Think about it--this was Newt Gingrich's district.
I thought Newt represented a rural district. Is it just the same number?
For many years, he represented west Georgia and almost lost his seat in 1990. When the GA legislature tried to gerrymander him, he then switched to the North Atlanta suburbs (which was GA-6). In the mid 1990s, you couldn't find a Democrat representing any office in this area. Times have changed.
