I guess Deeds will end up in the 40s, possibly high 40s, after all.

Terry's turnout operation turned out to be a paper tiger.

Is there a decent chance Creigh could finish with over 50%?

I hope Moran pulls it out for second place.

I'm with you -I would like nothing better than to have McAuliffe humiliated by not just failing to win the nomination, but in coming in dead last as well.

Especially considering he's raised over 7 million dollars.

I think that would speak very well of the VA primary electorate.  Webb beating that one dude who outspent him 4-1 and Deeds perhaps by about the same margin or a bit more.

Looks like Deeds will finish above 48%, if not 49%.

Highest turnout so far:

Deeds' home of Bath County, once again, with 24.7% turnout.

Lowest turnout so far:

Lee County, with 1.5% turnout.

I guess to Lee County, Deeds is a Northerner?

Looks like Deeds will finish at 49.77 +/- 0.02

Damn, he almost beat both of them combined.

Here's a map of the county-to-county:

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2009/elections/va/governor/1307/

Terry and Moran won some odd <500 vote counties.

i wouldnt doubt it, lunar.

i was being a bit hyperbolic.   i do seem to recall he was named after some confederate soldier.

um... you voted for Jesse Helms and you're complaining that Deeds (whose conservatism is kind of exaggerated) is too much of a neo-confederate? Okay dude...

yeah.  jesse was a good man.   i didnt agree with him on much.  but i admire the way he always stood his ground.

Just like Terry?

Indeed, extremely low turnout + they were probably outside of the media markets, so these could just be people voting who have almost no idea who these three people are.

There's one no one would have predicted on election day, let alone two months ago

Hell, two months ago someone would have looked at that map and assumed Terry was red.
