That was me earlier today, sorry[ish].  You bumped a few old threads with like zero content, posts like I think one was a month+ old thread about breakfast that you bumped just to say "nothing." as the entire content of your post.  Why bump a thread to announce that you have nothing to say?  I agreed with no infraction being taken, but at the time I was very grumpy after being soaked in rain and hit with tourists' umbrellas.

but if we can get reported for "sucks" or "teabagger candidate", that's weird.

You can get reported for anything if a juvenile twat clicks the report button.  We'll ignore such reports of course.

Sometimes I think a reporting system is a one great bulls**t. You can get reported for a laughable thing. You can not get reported by something way more serious and mods are telling you not to report, because they're getting PMs (who why the hell did they take this job).

Why not to get rid off reports system and have moderators watching boards on their own more carefully?

That would result in a fat less consistent moderating system and a LOT of work for us, and result in us parachuting in way too late after

The problem is that there's been a bureaucratic system set up that's extensive and all-encompassing to try and guide and "correct" disruptive posters, but if we could just toss out a few bad apples, we wouldn't need the extensive bureaucratic system of points.

And Gramps, chillax, it's Dave's explicit preference that the forums here remain PG rated for youngins on public school computers.  I think it's silly, probably not worth a "point" but I could understand thinking that some Playgirl spreads or whatevsky should be linked out instead of contained in img tags.  I stand with the asscheeks though! Basically what happened was when I clicked report post, I got a box where I then wrote something in. Then I clicked "send" or something like that, except the report box still remained (probably because my computer slowed down) and thus I clicked send numerous times because I thought that my report wasn't going to get sent. I thought that I only reported Libertas once. And it's just like when you try to open a website or a link, except that website or link doesn't open the first time you click and thus you keep on clicking until it does open. That's essentially what I did because I thought that my report of Libertas didn't go through.

Quit being a pussy and reporting posts.....problem solved.

When does something not work the first 30 times you click on it on the internet, but starts working the 31st?

And what kind of infraction would be worth such dedication?

3 pages of reports containing nothing but this this post again and again:

hmmm, remember when that was illegal. Oh those were fun times. Post a PM about a conflict about invalidating "a" vote in "an" election and suddenly you here a giant "CONGRATS YOU JUST WON A FREE STAY IN THE "BANNED FROM VOTING HOTEL", ENJOY YOUR STAY!!!!
While sharing PMs is a bannable offense on many forums, it really doesn't even matter since, even with tampering, there's nothing incriminating about anything I said. Rochambeau knew about the 20 minute time limit; it was his choice to wait until after the time limit and then edit it. Nobody forced him to do anything.

If there's one thing JewCon was right about, it's that Rochambeau can't be trusted to be telling the truth about anything. Numerous people have been discovering his weaselly ways lately. I regret siding with Roch over JewCon. Welcome to my ignore list, Roch.

This is absolutely positively the LAST I will say on this issue.

Should probably lock this and start a new results thread at this point...

I did say that and strongly believe that the word teabagger is legitimate political discourse, but I didn't say anyone should care what I think.

Being reported is sort of like someone filing a complaint or calling the police. There is no automatic right for you to know who it is.

Ah yes? There are some justice systems in which you're not informed who complained about you and especially why?

Yes.  I can report a crime to the police without having my identity handed to the criminal.

If I were providing evidence in a trial, that's something completely different.

Y'all sweat the small stuff too seriously.  Dave don't respond to threads marked urgent on our private board for weeks and the entire system is largely impotent in being capable of enforcing its own rules.

My position is however, that the points system has got to go.

I don't understand how I still have infraction points.

It's a bug in the system, and you aren't the only one affected.  Dave will no doubt fix it around the same he deals with the mods' other requests of him.

Thanks.

By that he means "never" fyi...

15-1-1

Mohammed with a bomb hat = ok
Mohammed with a bomb hat actually exploding = crossing a line
16-1-0

Somehow my 10-1-0 turned into 10-0-0.  Apparently some post of mine got modded, no violation counted, and then had the modding itself removed?

Maybe that type of mod expires after the three months as intended?

I think inserting my 'ole copyright images into people's posts was a lot more effective for me than assigning points ever has been, haha.

I like the design! Maybe the text should fade to yellow instead of green though, to match his outfit?

fwiw too, Mods [minus a few] tend to be more receptive to strongly worded warnings than the average troll.  So there's less escalation.

I'm pretty sure he could be.

The real question is, could Nym ban him? Wink
