Highly unlikely, but with an exceptional Repubican nominee, a near-perfect gaffe-less campaign, absolutely no or very few mentions of religion, and a disastrous Democratic nominee/campaign, and Vermont could potentially be in play. However, if Republicans won 49 states in 2016, Vermont would be my guess as the sole state the Democrat took.
