Clinton needs to pick Cory Booker. Tells Sanders that socialism isn't the answer, keeps up AA turnout, helps keep Hillary away from the D senate she can't be trusted with.

Kaine isn't my first pick, but he's completely acceptable. Experienced, Moderate, maybe worth a half point or point in Virginia.

Notice there is no clear leak of the choice. We know that Kaine is the most likely, but we don't know who has actually been picked. This is a polished campaign. It is good when the pick is never outright revealed before the actual announcement.

as a great candidate, especially when his opponent was supposed to be a joke.  That was a terrible result for Warner.

It's hard to compare Kaine 2012 with Warner 2008. 2008 was the most lopsided result in Virginia in 20 years. At no point did Kaine poll above 52%, and that's what he got. I'm not saying it was an impressive win, but do you really expect Democrats to get 65% or anywhere close to that in Virginia?

No, but Warner underperformed the preelection polls by 9 points.
