A bit worse. My guess is 42% or so.

He'll more likely get Kirk'd.

Three threads merged, hence the title.

Declaring red state Democrats DOA is Atlas's favorite pastime.

I mean, in this case, they're not wrong. Jones isn't a popular Governor.

Moore's not going to win the primary, but even if he did, this race would be Lean R at worst for him, and more likely it would be Likely R.

Well well.

Ugh. Congrats, Senator Moore.

Here's a question: How many of you think that Doug Jones would have won if control of the Senate had come down to this race in 2017? I'm guessing some Republicans who sat out would've held their nose and voted for Moore if it meant preventing the Democrats from gaining control of the Senate.

Republicans: Yeah, Moore might be a pedophile and a sexual predator, but Jones has a (D) next to his name and D bad.

Get ready for Senator Moore, folks. We got a three year reprieve, but now our time has come.

Yeah we know, that’s what you said in 2017...

If lots of Republicans stay home in 2020, Republicans are seen as having a 100% chance of keeping the Senate, and Moore's scandals are at the forefront of the campaign in October 2020, then yeah, maybe Jones could win by 1.5%.

Jones wouldn't be more likely to win if he ran as a "socialist" (which virtually no Democrats actually are), but most Republicans, even those who fancy themselves "moderates" or "moderate heroes", would vote for Moore over Jones without a second thought, all the while saying Democrats are the ones who are too extreme and unwilling to compromise.

Apparently Jones still doesn’t understand that he is representing AL, not MA and that Trump has a < 60% approval rate in his home state.

Or he realizes that he's pretty much done for next year, and would rather stand by his values than sell out and lose anyway. It's not like Gardner doesn't represent CO as if it were WY anyway.

Doug Jones is a man of character and backbone, who conducts his politics by what he believes in. I hope he gets appointed to the Justice Department or Supreme Court. He's way too good for Alabama, I wish he could be traded for some blue state senator.

Most Alabamians are people of faith and have strong christian values, it's a shame they are ''represented'' by this man.

Yeah, if only they could be represented by a pedophile instead.

Glad to see Jones defying the very tired conventional wisdom that Democrats must run as moderates in any race that isn't in a D+700 district.
Let’s see how much good it does him.

He's screwed either way, so he might as well do as he wishes.

3-5% chance if he's facing Moore, <.1% chance against anyone else.
