The Obama 2008 comparisons are laughable.

No one is at Obama 2008 level ( at least not yet) But Beto and Pete gets compared to everyone from JFK to Bill Clinton to Obama. She’s clearly just as talented as the Pete and Beto so I don’t see why it’s particularly laughable in relation to her.
And it isn’t just Democrat who rate her, republicans strategists acknowledge her talent and for the record they are way more worried about her than warren (who they think will be trumps easiest opponent).

Obama didnt come off as a fraud. Kamala does. Not to mention Kamala won't do nearly as well with black voters. Obama is half-white and resonates with blacks way better than Kamala.

If Kamala was the nominee, the "Trends" we've been seeing would dramatically accelerate imo. Suburbs would swing even further d but rurals and wwc would swing further R.

As many Miamis and Milwaukees and Detroits you can name, there are going to be (if not a higher amount of) WWC cities that will either turn hard-right for Trump, or pocketbook vote for him because of the economy.

Kamala's optics of a corrupt prosecutorial career, establishment Democrat, and little-to-no appeal to moderate voters on any topic will hand Trump the victory.

You could say the same about Barack Obama in 2007 and look where he went at the end of the election. Harris has the support of the people that will help any Democrat win a election, that being the crucial women of color that she needs to win the primary.

no she doesnt lol

Kamala Harris is Black. She is American citizen. She is of African descent.

She is not however a descendant of American slaves who came here 300 years ago. She is a descendant of recent immigrants who came here in living memory, one of whom wasn't even partially Black.

Her culture and ancestry are fundamentally different from the culture and ancestry of most African Americans.

It's a funny thing that the push for mass immigration and Affirmative Action started at the same time. This is not a coincidence.

When the government began to mandate diversity, most businesses did not want to hire American born Blacks, who were generally less educated. So they pushed the government to allow the elite of non-white countries to immigrate here so they could fill their diversity slots with them instead. Affirmative Action was thought up with African Americans in mind but most of the benefits went to Asian immigrants, the majority of whom came here in last 50 years and never experienced oppression from the US government.

Today the Democratic Party operates much the same way. They don't run members of America's historic Black population. They run the children of recent immigrants who were raised in Canada (Harris) or the children of foreign politicians (Obama).

This is going to go over many people's heads.

Not really. The post you quoted is full of inaccuracies.. She didn’t “grow up in Canada”... She lived in Oakland and Berkeley until she was 12 when her mother moved the family to Montreal because of work, where Harris attended high school.
In Berkeley the family lived in the flatlands on the west side which was a black neighbourhood at the time, while the hillside on the east was white. They attended baptist church and Harris later went  to Howard. Her parents were also involved in the civil rights movement.

The problem is somebody is going to need to actually go after Kamala's criminal justice record and there aren't alot of people I can see credibly doing that. Biden no way with his vote for the crime bill and already sketchy record on civil rights. I don't see Warren going after any women in fact I have a feeling the women candidates have a peace pact. Pete doesn't have any credibility with the police shooting & Bernie voted for the crime bill. Maybe Booker? But both seem close and have too much respect for each other.

Because they don't know how to approach it. They need to tie it with her fake authenticity. A black woman talking about segregation but then becoming a prosecutor and doing nothing about the mass-incarceration of blacks in California, a liberal state, should be a cakewalk. It's all about approach.

I don't think that'll work. She's shown willingness to defend her own record on live TV.

Does that make Democrats feel good about Harris? Someone who will position themselves as more of a neocon than Trump on North Korea and Russia?

Literally all the things she listed are widely agreed upon in America despite foreign policy ideology.

And all of them are neocons

Pretty sure Gabbard and Sanders also think climate change is a crisis, think Kim Jung un is a murderous dictator, and don't trust Russia.

And neither would be hostile towards russia or NK

Her plan doesn't actually help minorities the way it suggests when you break it down. More whites are being helped by it.

So KamalaCare is getting a lot of praise from policy and healthcare experts... but this is Atlas, it’s forbidden to talk good about the “cop”.

They'll never give her credit for anything.

Also, anybody bringing up the "she's a cop" routine is an idiot. Being President is completely different than being a prosecutor. She has pledged to reform our unjust criminal justice system if elected President and based on her voting record so far in the Senate, I believe that she will.

Also, she's been laying out some good policy proposals but they've been getting mostly ignored.

Probably because we know she's a fraud

I had forgotten about the prison labor thing! Keeping innocent people in prison and withholding evidence is disgusting. She should be ashamed of herself. And don't tell me she had nothing to do with it, she knows exactly what's going on and should have done more to prevent it! Like I said, I'm 100 % for Warren now.
Sorry bud. That wasn't her. It was the state attorneys under her arguing that and as soon as she found out about it she repudiated it and directed the prosecutors under her to never do it again.

It is very naive to think she would know what 1,000 attorneys in a state of 40 million people were doing everyday in their offices.

Quote
California Attorney General Kamala Harris told ThinkProgress Wednesday she is concerned her department created a perception that the state’s prisons have a goal of “indentured servitude.” Harris was responding to revelations that lawyers in her office argued in court without her knowledge that a program to parole more prisoners would drain the state’s source of cheap labor.

“The way that argument played out in court does not reflect my priorities,” she said, adding that she fears state lawyers taking that position will create more distrust in the criminal justice system. Harris worried that heavily policed communities may suspect the state has an “ulterior motive,” especially when it seems “the penalty may not be proportionate to the crime.”

Quote
“The idea that we incarcerate people to have indentured servitude is one of the worst possible perceptions,” said Harris. “I feel very strongly about that. It evokes images of chain gangs. I take it very seriously and I’m looking into exactly what needs to be done to correct it.”

Uh sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I have absolutely no idea how that could be interpreted as racist.

It's criticizing her from a standpoint that is systematic racist. Read the response from black women to Mrs. Ellen in the twitter thread.

I still don't understand.  Why is calling her "overconfident" racist if she is black?

I wonder how much she gets paid to pretend calling Kamala overconfident = racist. Liberals and Conservatives need to pick better black figures.

She hasnt learned from it, her outreach to blacks and Latinos, AA in particular is horrible.  She comes from SF, an elitist city where blacks are declining in population; whereas, South Central LA is where AA are at, deep pockets of homelessness.

She wont go on Oprah like Beto did, she only went on Jimmy Kimmell, but going on View was a smart thing.

I mean she wouldn't be doing much better even if she did this because she has no record to show for
