So does that mean he's dead in Iowa? Does the farmer lobby still call the shots?
While I wouldn't say he's dead on arrival, it is is a hit against him. I don't think he would win as many votes as Walker, but even in Iowa, people are probably going to place more focus on issues other than subsidies.
Although the early polling of the 2016 election is not the most useful tool this far out, it can provide some benefit. The most recent poll I found from Iowa (
NBC News/Marist) indicates that Paul does the best out of all Republicans against Clinton in the state, reaching a tie while all other Republicans lagged behind Clinton by a few points (on a side note, Clinton led Walker 50-37 in this poll, but I still think that if he were pitted against Clinton in 2016, he would do better than that).
