May this be hereby proclaimed the official thread for the 2006 NY Gubernatorial election.

I found these poll #'s, from about 2 weeks ago:

Spitzer (D) 60%
Golisano (R) 22%

Spitzer (D) 63%
Weld (R) 16%

Spitzer (D) 62%
Daniels (R) 15%

Spitzer (D) 64%
Faso (R) 14%

And if Suozzi is an idiot and enters the primary:

Spitzer 69%
Suozzi 11%

I'd support Weld over Spitzer but don't particularly like any of the other 3.

NY shouldn't be written off just yet for 2006.

Of course, all sane/literate posters agree NY is done barring a Rudy entry.

but luckily he cant get most of his idiotic agenda passed due to the makeup of our state legislature.

It's kind of suprising that Mitt is a horrible person because his father, George Romney (I think that's his dad) was by all accounts that I can find a great man.

Wow, this could rival Obamas pickup of a Senate seat in 2004 for biggest swing since previous election.

No, only 25% of NYers know who Weld is, and once they get to know him a decent amount will like him (because he's a good man and likeable).  He isn't a joke like Keyes was, so he should get around 35% by November.
