had a moment, a wonderful moment, that cross-breed between nostalgia and the forward, a blending of elements of the past with the ability to imagine a fantastical future that sustains. October, coffee, whiskey, but probably coffee: postseason baseball! runners left on base, 11 innings, chill in the air. nicotine. sunny day, smells like fall, all about the scents. listen to sports talk radio, get a hair cut. get simple. the closer you get to simple the search for meaning disappears and reappears as I put on that inexpensive zip-up hoodie, and stare for a couple minutes at the two feuding logos: Mets 2, Giants 1, Game 4, tonight, 807pm, FOX.
