he 'loaned' over $44.6M to himself last time around, no reason to think he won't do it again if he has no other options.

At least Santorum is helping to put a dent in Romney's funds.  Can he really spend 'unlimited' amounts of his own money?  He's only worth about 220 million, right?  In the general that won't be such a big factor.. (or excuse my ignorance, is he allowed to use his own money in the general?).

I'm sure that he is allowed unless he opts for public financing which he obviously would not.  even then he would be allowed to use x amount.  and yes estimates of his net worth are about $200-250M.
